St. PCP Ninth International Masterclass

The St. PCP welcomes back Mark Stringer (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien), who regularly appears on the St. PCP’s distinguished list of guest masterclass teachers, and the Artistic Director of the St. PCP, Jeffery Meyer , team-teaching in a class of European masterworks. This class represents a rare opportunity for young conductors from all over the world to study three musical pillars of the repertoire by Haydn, Ravel and Beethoven in one of the most important cultural capitals in the world.
Five days of classes and a final concert, May 21 - 26, 2017. In order to maximize podium time, the class is limited to only 8 advanced participants (and up to 4 observers) who will be invited to work with Maestros Mark Stringer and Jeffery Meyer. The workshop will include score study sessions, conducting sessions with two pianos, conducting sessions with the orchestra, a special session for auditors and a final concert. There will also be the opportunity to see one or two Mariinsky Theatre productions, depending on ticket availability. The students of the class will be featured on the final concert as part of the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic's 2016-2017 concert season. Each participant will receive significant podium time with two pianos and with the orchestra, as well as a certificate of participation.

Tuition
Tuition (including breakfast and a shared double room in hotel) for active participants: TUITION REDUCED TO $2150 USD. There will be an additional charge for single room accommodation, if available. There will be room for up to 8 observers (non-conducting students) to be accepted. Although they will not conduct in the masterclasses, there will be a special 2-hour class with the Maestros provided for these conductors. Tuition for observers (including room in hotel) will be $750 USD.Application
Deadline for receipt of all materials and non-refundable application fee is Friday, March 24, 2017Notification of acceptance will occur by Monday, March 20, and the tuition must be paid in full by Friday, March 31 to ensure a place in the course.
